Itinerary

Full day Santiago - Casablanca Valley - Santiago

Departure from Santiago towards Casablanca Valley. On the way it is possible to pass by the mountains and hills that conform the Coast Mountain Range, that in spite of being lower due to the erosion, is much older than the Andes Mountain Range in its origin. In this route a beautiful vegetation can be seen, where lush green trees and bushes predominate.

Arrival to the Casablanca Valley, whose beauty relies on the vineyards that embellish it. This place is known for the production of white wines that due to the weather and sea breeze provide the conditions that encourage the growth of this type of vine.
Visit to one of the wineries, walking around its vineyards, production plants and cellars, with the chance of tasting its wines.

Then departure to the equestrian centre “Puro Caballo”, to see a demonstration of rein handling and the different type of horses. In this place it is possible to connect with the traditions of the countryside Chilean traditions and specially the figure of the “huaso”.

Finally, visit to an art craft and jewellery exposition, to culminate the trip having lunch at “El Estribo” countryside restaurant.

By the afternoon, return to the hotel in Santiago.

Excursions
Viña Mar

The Vi๑a Mar Wineries are located in the high sector of the Casablanca Valley, towards the northeast with a slight ascending incline which allows a permanent exposure to the sun and a moderate ocean breeze. Its 250 hectares have been planted with fine French vines, among which is the Sauvignon Blanc. With a density of 3,800 plants per hectare, the vineyards have drip irrigation system which allows the grapes to be harvested manually.

The wine cellar has an avant guard technology to satisfy the highest world standards. It has a storage capacity in liters, of which 85% corresponds to stainless steel storage tanks and the rest to American Oak and French Holm Oak. Its bottling and labeling processes allow for operative flexibility in working with small groups, making it possible to offer high quality wines.

Puro Caballo

"Puro Caballo" (Pure Horse) is a tourism center that uses the traditional Chilean techniques, in contact with the rural lifestyle of the country with a folklore and gastronomy where the Huaso (Cowboy) and the Chilean horse are the protagonists.

When you arrive, you will be welcomed by the owners and our personnel who will give you a cordial welcome along with folk music and Chilean dance demonstrations (live folklore group) accompanied by a delicious Chilean aperitif, our national drink.

We will then visit our stables where our specialized personnel will explain the roots and the morphology of the Chilean horse, whose genealogy is the oldest in South America. You will also be able to feed and enjoy the beauty of our horses.

You will have the opportunity to watch an Equestrian Show in our arena where the huaso and the horse harmoniously perform different equestrian tests such as reign control, barrel racing and our national dance done with a horse.

After our equestrian presentation, visit our Chilean handcraft store where the merchandise comes from different parts of the country such as Rari, famous for its horse hair figures, Arica for its ponchos and sweaters made from Alpacas and llamas, Pomaire for its pottery and other typical products such as huaso hats, presentation ponchos, Chilean style stirrups and mounts.

At Puro Caballo, our restaurant, you will find traditional Chilean food with an architectural style belonging to our country, where you can enjoy an exquisite menu with dishes such as steak baked in a clay oven with a with a wood fire, creating an incomparable flavor, Salmon baked in butter or Corn Pie- traditional Chilean dishes, among other specialties.
