The initiation of skiing in Chile began in the town of Farellones in the 30s when the first wooden skis arrived from Switzerland. Thanks to the efforts of pioneers this town grew and as early as the 40s, Antonio Padrós was able to offer one of the first hotels in Farellones, the Hotel Posada de Farellones; that which would later be honored with the view of the Duquesa de Kent, a splendid mountain view. Over time, Farellones became more adept for skiing, with the first installation of a cable ferry(ski lift) in the area which has now been converted into El Colorado Ski Center, the largest in South America. The Hotel Posada de Farellones contains modern facilities, equipment rentals, heli-ski services, daily transportation to La Parva and El Colorado ski centers(10 minutes) and an excellent restaurant. It’s personalized service and warm environment make it a pleasant place to stay.

Excursions NOT Included

El Colorado Ski Center
Situated in the Metropolitan region and only 39 km. from Santiago. The maximum altitude is 3,333 with a fall of 903 meters, which results in a ski area of 1,000 hectares. Receiving many short snowfalls with an average of 5 meters of precipitation in a normal year, El Colorado also has a snowmaking system to guarantee snow throughout the season. This center, together with La Parva and Valle Nevado, forms the biggest and best ski area in South America. Farellones and El Colorado are close to the center and offer a variety of accommodations, in particular, the Apart Hotel Colorado and the Hotel Posada de Farellones, the last one being one of the first to be built in this resort, in the 1940's. Valle Nevado Ski Center
Not only is this the most recent addition of ski centers to the country, but is the biggest and most modern. Situated at 3,025m above sea level, 60km from Santiago, it offers a ski area of 9,000 hectares and a vertical drop of 810m. Together with La Parva and El Colorado-Farellones, it forms the largest ski area in South America. The center also has the facility to make snow for 30% of its area. (More information)

The Program Includes

• Regular daily transportation with two different schedules to the Ski Center of La Parva or El Colorado.

Program does NOT include

• Drinks you are not included.
• Our prices do not include the IVA tax; nevertheless non resident hosts in Chile that pay their reservations in American dollars (cash or credit card) are exempt from this tax.
• The tickets for the centers of ski are not included.
• Access to Internet is not included.
• Plane tickets are not included.
• Transportation from Santiago / Airport / Stacks is not included.

Notes

• The first child younger than 5 years does not pay accommodation. The second one will have the same value of the minor from 5 to 11 years sharing the same room of two adults.
• The child's price from 5 to 11 years will be applied exclusively in Special Doubles.
• Rules may apply for absence of snow or for closing the roads.
• Prices may be subject to changes.

Additional Information

• Special Doubles and Family rooms: they are more comfortable due to its biggest size and nicer view than the Double rooms. These rooms are furnished with a double bed, twin and a half or bunk beds.
• The Family room has a bath, two or three living areas separated with or without door. Some are provided with double beds, twin beds and bunk beds. The values are equal for all, independently from the age of the persons who occupy the room.
• Doubles: Two Standard beds. There is no possibility for double beds to be placed in these rooms.
• Check-in: Will be from 3:00 PM Check-out: Will be at 12:00 hrs.
• There is a TV in the living room with connected to the satellite. There are no TVs in double rooms.
• In Chile the electrical supply is 220 volts.

Season

• Low Season

Cancellation Policies

All cancellations have to be sent by fax or email. Once the reservation has been confirmed by Gotolatin, the following charges will apply for cancellations made by the passenger, according to the program departure date:

• 40 working days before the beginning of the program
  Charge of the 15% of the total reservation per passenger (Adult or child).
• Between 40 and 15 working days before beginning of the program
  50% of total program value per passenger.
• Less than 15 days before beginning of the program
  No refunds apply.
• There are no refunds for portions of the program not used, hotel accommodations, etc.
• We recommend considering travel insurance for any reason.
