Grand and emerald green in color is the Chungará Lake. Surrounded by snowy peaks Parinacota, Sajarna, Quisiquisini and further south Guallatiri Volcano and its’ fumaroles. Chungará lake is a part of the Lauca National Park it hides a grand beauty and active animal life. With luck you will have the opportunity to see nice vizcachas or perhaps you can see some Camelidae like the alpacas and llamas. Don’t loose the opportunity on this occasion to see Parinacota with its church over a century old. See old houses closed with large padlocks, the school, and a small plaza all of this is part of the old antique route of Arica to Potosí
