In the heart of Patagonia, Coyhaique is located at the feet of the Macay hill, a basaltic bulk of gray tones. The city is centered around its peculiar 5 sides plaza, created to remember the form of the national policemen’s shield and that is perfect to disorient the unaware visitor.
The city has a great supply in tourist services: hotels, hostels, lodges, inns, bed & breakfast, restaurants with typical Patagonian food, shops, crafts and travel agencies.
Coyhaique is the departure point to visit the Aysén region. In its surroundings we found very interesting attractions like the Simpson river, the El Fraile ski center, the Elizalde Lake and the National Reserve Cerro Castillo, among others.
