Situated 1,650 mts above sea level, with 28 runs, 35 km groomed and maintained and a skiable area of 10,000 hectares. With 9 lifts (on triple seat, three double seats and five surface) it has the longest run in South America, at 13kms. 30% of the area is for beginners, 40% for intermediate and 30% only for experts. There is a vertical drop of 1,100 mts and the first snowpark of South America. It is also one of the centers which offers the most alternative activities, for example, Nordic skiing, randonee, heliski, snowmobiles and sledges. 

The thermal center has nine blue-water pools which are open all year round. With many beautiful natural attractions, summer here offers our visitors a recreational and relaxing retreat.

Bío-Bío region, 194 km to the east of Concepción. Chillán is 82 km to the west. Location
When to go
All year. Ski season is between 15th of June and the 15th of October.

How to get there
Santiago-Chillán (407 km.): by air or by land, public or private transportation. By land, take the Ruta 5 South. Chillán-Ski Center (82 km.): By public or private transportation, leave Chillán towards the east on a road which borders the river. The last 27km are unpaved. See Transport

Slopes and Ski-Lifts

Termas de Chillán has a ski-able area of 10 thousand hectares, the biggest in the country, with 28 runs (35kms in total) and a drop of 1,100mts.

Skiing slopes map 30% of the runs are graded easy, 40% intermediate and the other 30% as difficult. The grades are marked by colors, with green being "very easy", blue being "easy", red "intermediate", and black "difficult".

Las Tres Marías is the emblematic slope of this center as it is the longest in South America (13 km) and runs through beautiful native forests.

Termas de Chillán also has a Snowpark for snowboarding which is 250 mts long and has a Half Pipe, Quartes Pipe, Fun Box and Jump.

In the center there are 11 lifts, of which 4 are double seats (Silla Peta is now in operation), 1 is a triple seat and 6 are surface lifts. The Don Otto lift is the largest in the country, at 2,500 Mts.

Tickets

Tickets can be bought from the ticket office in the first car park, at the bottom of the "El Tata" lift and in the office which is in the parking lot at the side of the Center 1,800.

Ski School

Termas de Chillan offers a ski school with international instructors who gives lessons for all levels and the different forms of snow sports as mentioned above.

There are two types of classes: private and group. The duration of the former can vary between 1hr and 1 day. Group lessons, however, last 2 hours.

For youngsters between 3 and 8 years old, there is a Mini Ski School which has instructors specialized in teaching in an entertaining and fun way. There is also a "baby lift" especially for them. The classes can be one hour, half day or a complete day including a special lunch.

At Termas de Chillán there are three Ski Rental stores, at the Gran Hotel, and at the main Center 1.800, where you can rent accessories and complete equipment for skiing and snowboarding for both adults and children.
