You will find Los Arenales Ski Center located between forests of Araucarias
and native trees with incomparable landscapes, as well you can see
a large quantity of animals that inhabit the area; such as foxes,
rabbits, hares and condors. From the heights of the ski slopes you
can see different volcanoes in the southern zone of Chile. During
the spring and summer months there are activities such as rock climbing,
mountain climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking and photographic
circuits. On the other hand the Los Arenales Refuge has accommodations
for 32 people in guest rooms with bunk beds for 4 or 6 people, dining
room for 45 people and bar. The refuge is decorated in native
wood and contains all the comforts corresponding to a very good
mountain refuge, specially designed for skiers and mountain climbers.

8 km east of Lonquimay, in the Araucanía Region. Location
When to go
In the winter season, between the middle of June and the
middle of October. At summer time, from December to March.
How to get there
From the north from the 5 Sur route until you cross the
city of Victoria. From that point until you get to Lonquimay
it is about 120 km further, passing through Victoria,
Curacautín, Manzanar, Malalcahuello and the Las Raíces
tunnel. From Lonquimay it is 8 km east by way of
Cordillera Las Raíces highway.
From Temuco by way of 5 Sur Route to Lautaro and then
to Curacautín. From this point keep going until Lonquimay
and the center. See

The ski center contains 4 surface pulling lifts, 2 lifts for
ski lessons for beginners, 1 chair lift, 1 double chair-lift that
is 1,250 meters and high velocity. It has 6 trails flanked by native vegetation and one of them crosses
a forest of araucaria trees. The skiable terrain is 35% beginner,
35% Intermediate and 30% expert.
