A beautiful, mountainous park whose surface area measures 12,500 hectares (27,500 acres), and is characterized by its mountainous geography, and crystalline lakes and lagoons. Easily accessible in the summer time, this park offers the visitor a wide range of recreational options, from simply admiring the natural beauty to camping and sports. There are some incredible views from the park, like the Pucon river to the Villarrica volcano. And, if you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the majestic condor.

 

 
Location
La Araucanía Region, 145 km (90 mi) southeast of Temuco. 33 km (20 mi) to the west is Pucón. Location
How to get there
Santiago-Temuco by air (any season), public or private transportation, from Temuco to Pucón buses or private vehicles. Santiago-Pucón by air is only possible in the summer. Pucón-Paillaco by colectivos (shared taxis). To get to the park, leave Pucón on the road to Caburgua. At kilometer 20 on the right is the turn towards Paillaco. After this point you will arrive at Lake Tinquilco, and after another two kilometers you will arrive at the park entrance. See Transportation

Climate
There are two types of climate: a warm climate with less than four dry months, and an icy climate, due to altitude. The most rainy months are between May and September, with an annual rainfall of 2,045 mm.
