The
Size of the Fly Bundle: The Woolly Bugger
The term
"fly" is normally used in
the generic form referring to any bait
that imitates food for the trout.
One of the
most effective flies for fishing trout
and salmon is the Woolly Bugger.
It is effective, easy to tie up, and
the materials used are
inexpensive. It is not clear
which food it imitates-- it could be a
leech, a hermit crab, or a dragonfly
nymph when green colors are
used. It can be attached in a
variety of colors and combinations,
but it is most effective in black,
olive, brown, and white, or some
combination of these.
