The Austral Thrush, T. f. magellanicus King, lives from Chañaral (Atacama) to the Cape of Hornos and the Juan Fernández Islands, and the Austral Thrush T. f. mochae Chapman, on the Mocha island (Araucanía region). Details
Measures 26 cm. Has a black upper parts such as the head and the aurinculars, excluding the front feathers which are a light brown. The rest of the upper parts are light grey with an olive tint. Off-white throat with black ribs. Light brownish yellow chest, stomach, and subcaudals. Lives in orchards, gardens, and pastures.
