Magellan and Tierra del Fuego

Tierra del Fuego is a mystery for many because it corresponds to the last corner of the South American continent. Today it can be traveled by way of the Patagonian channels that cross the Strait of Magellan and carry the visitor from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia in Argentina.

The excursion is carried out by crossing lakes, glaciers, fjords, and a variety of islands where it is possible to observe flora and fauna typical of Tierra del Fuego in all its splendor.

Crossing inlets and fjords, the Darwin mountain range is reached where a thick Magellan forest crowned by glaciers is found.  Slightly further east is the D'Agostini inlet, close to the Serrano iceberg.

The journey to Tierra del Fuego continues along channels such as Magdalena and Beagle, and then, sails by mountainous and waterfall-lined landscapes, reaching Puerto Williams, the southernmost city of Chile.  The route continues to the Argentine city of Ushuaia, from which the return trip sets off, passing through the Magdalena Island National Park.
