Contains the I and II political regions (Tarapacá
and Antofagasta). This zone is mostly desert and highlands. The
principal cities are Arica and Antofagasta. In this zone is located
San Pedro de Atacama, El Tatío Geyser, Chuquicamata Copper Mine,
