SMALL NORTH ZONE
Embraces the regions of Atacama (III) y Coquimbo (IV). It is a zone of great
contrast, between stark desert and fertile valley. With a privileged climate, this area is perfect
for astronomical observations and tourism: clear skies most of the year and warm beaches. Also in
this zone are the astronomical observatories of La Silla, European Southern Observatory and El
Tololo, as well as the famous Elqui Valley and several beach resorts.
