From Puerto Montt to Tierra del Fuego, a large part of the Chilean territory
is made up of hundreds of islands. The voyage through Patagonian
channels crossing fjords and peninsulas not only provides a route to unexplored
territories and land untouched by humans but also to areas of incredible
natural attractions.
Those who travel in this part of Chile --scenically similar to Alaska's
Inside Passage, Milford Sound of New Zealand, and the Northern Atlantic
coasts of Norway -- can see, among other things, ice drifts and glaciers
which reach into the sea or stretch out to the coast, species of native
forests, mountain ranges which disappear into the Pacific, and the southernmost
cities of the planet.
